The first phase of this project has already commenced with the incorporation of 65 specimens and the preparation of their tree pits in areas such as Nueva Alcántara and streets like Palencia, Ávila, Pablo Ruiz Picasso, Jorge Guillén, and Marqués del Duero.
The second stage of the plan will focus on Avenida de La Constitución, one of San Pedro Alcántara's main thoroughfares, where 12 trees will be added. Subsequently, planting will continue in other key locations such as Avenida Fuente Nueva, the promenade, and the boulevard, where 250 specimens are planned to be planted.
“"The action seeks to enhance the arboreal heritage of San Pedro Alcántara and move towards an environment with better environmental quality and more pleasant places for residents."
In addition to tree planting, the initiative will be complemented by the recovery of landscaped areas, medians, and roundabouts, through the incorporation of 7,400 shrub and floral plants. A specific plan for pest treatment and prevention will also be implemented.
These actions in San Pedro Alcántara's green areas are part of a broader plan for the renovation and improvement of environmental signage in different parts of the locality. The latter includes replacing elements deteriorated by time, weather conditions, or vandalism, including the installation of 13 landmark-type signs at the mouths of rivers and streams such as the Guadalmina and Guadaiza.
