The program, which will run during September, October, November, and December, aims to promote a more egalitarian society and offer tools for citizen autonomy and well-being. The Councilor for Families, Equality, and Social Welfare, Cristina Bornao, highlighted that the council's commitment to equality is constant throughout the year.
In September, activities will focus on emotional well-being and personal development, with workshops such as ‘When the Mind Doesn’t Stop’ (mindfulness), ‘Awaken Your Joy’ (dance therapy), and ‘Small Habits, Big Changes’. Bornao noted that personal development is key in equality policies for facing life's challenges with greater autonomy.
October will expand the offerings with proposals on health, communication, family, and new technologies. The course ‘Apps and Digital Tools That Save Time in Your Business’, aimed at women entrepreneurs, stands out. Workshops on mindfulness, pelvic floor health, public speaking, positive education, and dance therapy will also be held.
The month of November will have special prominence due to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25). The self-defense workshop ‘Jansu Do. Self-Defense for Women’, the show ‘Dear Me’, and proposals on health and well-being such as ‘Pelvic Floor. Menopause and Vitality’ will be offered. Additionally, a Christmas cooking course will take place.
The program will conclude in December with the workshop ‘Playing Without Labels. Co-education Through Play’ and ‘Mindfulness and Gratitude’, reaffirming the City Council's commitment to working on equality from an early age and breaking stereotypes.
Registration can be done at the Equality Department or via email (igualdad@fuengirola.org), with priority for registered residents. Some places will be available through the Citizen Card. All information is available on the Fuengirola City Council's Electronic Headquarters.
