This initiative, part of the municipal sports program ‘Fuengirola en Forma’, aims to introduce children to the world of sport fishing and foster contact with the sea. The activity will take place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The Councilor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, and the president of the Club de Pesca La Baila, Dionisio Palencia, presented the details of this workshop, now in its twelfth edition. Around a hundred children and families are expected to participate.
“"The children, but also the accompanying adults, greatly enjoy this day and the guidance from the club's instructors."
Participation in the workshop is free, but requires prior registration through the Club de Pesca La Baila social media or by calling 656 674 756. The club will provide all necessary equipment, including rods, reels, hooks, and bait.
During the event, instructors will offer basic notions on equipment setup and shore fishing techniques. Upon completion, each child will receive a diploma.
“"The intention of this workshop is for children to get started in fishing. We provide them with all the necessary equipment: the rod, the reel, the hooks, the bait, and all the material they need to enjoy the activity."
Through this initiative, the City Council of Fuengirola and the Club de Pesca La Baila continue to promote sports among young people and highlight the city's connection with the sea.
