The electrical facilities in Las Cañadas, Mijas, are on the verge of a significant improvement. Starting next month, over 2,000 local residents will benefit from a renewed electricity supply, aimed at resolving the historical deficiencies that have impacted their daily lives.
The mayor of Mijas, Ana Mata, announced that the channeling works for the new underground cabling will be completed next week. These efforts, which have involved several meetings with the company Endesa and constant contact with residents, will allow for the renovation of facilities over 40 years old.
The new transformation center, already completed and dependent on the Las Cañadas electrical substation, will be exclusively for this neighborhood. Connections and cabling are currently being finalized.
On January 14th, Mayor Ana Mata, accompanied by the Councilor for Infrastructure, Juan José Torres, met with representatives from Endesa to establish an investment commitment. In this meeting, Mata acknowledged residents' complaints about constant supply interruptions and damage to electrical appliances, pledging to expedite the municipal license to prioritize these upcoming actions.
