The operations will focus on the section of the Costa del Sol Highway (AP-7) between kilometers 1044.7 and 1042.7, in the direction of Málaga. These measures are essential to ensure the safety of both workers and road users during the execution of the works.
In addition to lane narrowing, night-time traffic closures are anticipated, specifically between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, on some lanes heading towards Málaga. These disruptions will be maintained throughout the construction period.
These works are part of the Noise Action Plan and have a budget of 13.1 million euros, funded by European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR). The main objective is to reduce noise levels and the impact on the population near the highway.
“"This narrowing, duly signposted, will also affect the entry and exit ramps of junctions 1044 (Marbella, Trapiche Avenue), and 1043 (A-355, Ojén, Marbella, commercial park), as well as the bifurcation at kilometer 1042 between the AP-7 and the A-7 in the Fuengirola/Málaga direction."
The works, formalized in the summer of 2024, include the installation of acoustic screens with a total length of 6,612 meters and an area of 26,304 square meters, with heights ranging from 2.5 to 4.5 meters. For their implementation, existing structural limitations, such as viaducts, walls, and overpasses, as well as the acoustic characteristics of the materials, have been considered.
