The incident occurred on the night of Thursday to Friday when the driver of a greengrocer's delivery van ignored police orders to stop in Benalmádena. Instead of halting, he initiated a flight that lasted approximately one hour and covered over a hundred kilometers through several towns in the province.
The pursuit passed through locations such as Fuengirola and Rincón de la Victoria, and even involved driving against traffic and through neighborhoods of Málaga city like El Palo and Paseo de Sancha. The driver endangered other road users before finally being intercepted and arrested on Calle Victoria in the provincial capital.
According to police sources, the individual, who works for a greengrocer in Torremolinos, allegedly attempted to evade a drug test, possibly due to cocaine consumption before driving. During the chase, he is also accused of ramming several vehicles.
The driver evaded a police checkpoint and allegedly traveled more than a hundred kilometers for about an hour to try to escape the National Police, passing through several towns and endangering other road users before being arrested in the city center.
This incident adds to recent events in the province. Málaga Local Police recently reported the arrest of two individuals following a dispute that led to a chase, with one of the suspects seeking refuge in the Martiricos Fire Station. The conflict, according to investigations, originated from the non-payment of rent for a room.
