The federative body's decision comes after the white-and-green club attempted to overturn Percan's expulsion during the match against Granada CF. The sanction remains in place for pulling an opponent's hair, an action the club argued was accidental.
The incident occurred in the final minutes of the match, with the score still tied at zero. The referee sent off the forward with a direct red card for “pulling an opponent's hair, bringing him down, with the ball in dispute,” according to the referee's report. Despite being a man down, Córdoba CF secured the victory with a goal in the 85th minute.
“"At no point did I intend to pull the opponent's hair. What we could do is change the rule and require playing with hair tied back because, now, an attempted grab becomes an aggression."
Córdoba CF based its appeal on the absence of elements of violent conduct, arguing that there was no intentional blow or aggression. According to the appeal brief, the initial shirt-holding accidentally led to contact with the opponent's hair due to the dynamics of the play and the player's own fall. The club submitted video evidence to support its version.
However, the Disciplinary Committee applied its usual criterion, which requires conclusive proof of a “manifest material error” to invalidate the referee's report. After reviewing the images, the committee concluded that “it is clearly observed how the expelled player pulls the opponent's hair,” corroborating the referee's report and maintaining the one-match suspension.
