The initiative invites creators of any nationality and background to submit new or previously published works reflecting on the visible and invisible connections of contemporary life. It will explore affective, digital, professional, solidarity, and influence networks.
The presentation featured Nieves Galiot and Rafael Obrero, festival co-curators and members of the collective Nadie; Leopoldo Izquierdo, director of the Kutxabank Foundation; and Gerardo Barrios, director of Construcciones Ictino.
Nieves Galiot highlighted how visual poetry can make visible the multiple networks that permeate our lives, some protective and others restrictive. Meanwhile, Leopoldo Izquierdo emphasized the Kutxabank Foundation's support for cultural initiatives that enrich Cordoba and foster contemporary creation, establishing Poemx as a benchmark.
Gerardo Barrios stressed the importance of integrating culture into the social fabric of Cordoba, comparing architecture and visual poetry in their ability to transform perceptions of shared spaces.
Up to ten works will be selected by a specialized jury for exhibitions in urban spaces across Cordoba, with an additional thirty pieces forming a collective exhibition at the Palacio de Viana. Both shows will be open to the public throughout November.
Submissions are open until October 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM, via the festival's website. The 2025 edition received 1,002 submissions from 42 countries, more than doubling the previous year's intake and solidifying the project's international reach.
Poemx is driven by the collective Nadie, the independent publication Preferiría no hacerlo, and Boek Visual. The 2026 edition is primarily sponsored by the Kutxabank Foundation, with Construcciones Ictino as an Accomplice, and Fundación Xul and Salud Ópticos as Patrons.
