Pavement repair works in Córdoba's historic center began this Monday, June 29, and will extend for two months, expected to conclude by August 30. These tasks will necessitate a complete restriction of vehicle passage along the axis connecting Plaza de las Tendillas and the Mezquita-Catedral.
The operations, coordinated by the Infrastructure and Mobility departments, are designed in phases to mitigate the impact on traffic flow. Interventions will successively affect key points such as the Plaza de la Agrupación de Cofradías and the streets Blanco Belmonte, Ángel de Saavedra, and Jesús y María.
During the initial phase, focused on the Plaza de la Agrupación de Cofradías, an alternative route has been established for residents and businesses in the streets Buen Pastor and Conde y Luque, who must now use Plaza Pineda for exit. Each work section is estimated to last about two weeks, progressively altering the area's road configuration.
The Mobility Department has stated that the contracted company will coordinate in advance with residents to inform them about the alternative routes activated in subsequent phases. Citizen cooperation and advance travel planning are requested to prevent traffic jams in this high-pedestrian and service-traffic zone.
Affected individuals are urged to follow the provisional signage and the instructions of the pavement workers. For inquiries or incidents related to these restrictions, the Córdoba City Council has provided the phone number 957 455 300 and the email address movilidad@ayuncordoba.es.
