Valencian coach José Luis Oltra will once again step onto the pitch at El Arcángel for a special reunion. Despite failing to secure permanence with Huesca, Oltra was full of praise for Córdoba CF and the Andalusian team's campaign. "They have had a very good season. They had a phase that hampered them from competing at the very top, but in terms of proposal, model, and performance, it has been very good," he stated in a press conference.
Oltra highlighted the quality of Córdoba's players and their vertical, attacking style of play. "They have very good players and they are a team that presses hard. They take offensive risks, they propose, and they are very vertical with players who have a lot of imbalance. It's a team that, if they are where they are, it's because they have earned it," he affirmed, acknowledging the positive atmosphere expected at the stadium.
This return coincides with the tenth anniversary of Oltra's arrival at the helm of the 'blanquiverde' team, recalling the 2015-2016 season when he led the team in its last promotion playoff to the First Division. That project, which concluded in a commendable fourth position, came close to returning the club to the elite, despite losing in the promotion tie against Girona.
After his spell in Córdoba, Oltra has managed other clubs such as Granada, Tenerife, Racing de Santander, Fuenlabrada, Larnaca, Eldense, and most recently, Huesca. His career has been marked by several relegations in different teams.
