Franck Fomeyem begins a new recovery process with the hope of definitively overcoming his ailments. The player, who plays for Córdoba CF, underwent surgery this Monday in Madrid on his left ankle. This period of convalescence, expected to last through much of the summer, should allow him to start his second year with the club in peak condition.
The operation was performed under the supervision of doctors Manuel Monteagudo and Mikel Sánchez. Dr. Monteagudo was responsible for the intervention on the Cameroonian player's left ankle. The club confirmed that the surgery proceeded as planned.
Fomeyem now faces a recovery that will extend throughout the summer. The goal is to leave behind the persistent discomfort in his left ankle, which began after he was injured on November 16th during the match against Deportivo de La Coruña at El Arcángel.
What initially seemed like an ankle sprain became complicated over time, preventing the player from returning to training. The persistent discomfort necessitated a new surgery due to the appearance of bone edema. This marks the third operation the footballer has undergone since his injury.
Prior to his injury, Franck Fomeyem had established himself as one of Córdoba CF's most consistent players at the start of the season. The center-back started in all 14 matches played before suffering the unfortunate incident that ended his campaign.
Having joined last summer after shining at Antequera, Fomeyem, 26, is confident in regaining his physical condition over the summer to continue his development in Spanish professional football.
