The sports commission of Córdoba CF, recently renewed until 2027, is laying the groundwork for the upcoming season. Following a calm end to the league, the club is working on squad planning for what will be its third consecutive season in professional football.
One of the key names in this new project is Diego Bri. The player, who arrived last summer on loan from Atlético de Madrid, has signed a contract linking him to the Córdoba club for at least two more seasons, until June 2028, as confirmed by ABC.
Initially, the sports commission had mentioned a purchase option, but it has now been revealed that this clause was mandatory. Thus, after an initial loan campaign, the agreement also included his permanent incorporation for two additional years, as reported by El día de Córdoba.
“"Diego Bri was a player the club was «very interested in»."
At 23 years old, Córdoba CF secures a player with significant potential. Despite the team's inconsistent performance, coach Iván Ania found a reliable solution in Bri at left-back, especially when Vilarrasa and Juan María Alcedo were unavailable, even though his natural position is winger. His loan season has allowed him to adapt and gain experience in the category, establishing himself as a key future asset in the blanquiverde project.
Diego Bri has accumulated over 1,000 minutes in 21 matches, with 11 starts and three goals. His development has been steady, moving from limited involvement in the first half of the season to becoming a regular in Iván Ania's plans in the second, always at left-back. His first half of the season was marked by two injuries, one to his back and another muscular, which caused him to miss two months of competition and limited his playing time to a mere 90 minutes.
