Francisco Martín, also known as TractorGump, has reached a significant milestone in his sporting endeavor: completing over 9,000 of the planned 30,000 kilometers. This challenge, mirroring the iconic run of Forrest Gump, aims to raise awareness and funds for the Unoentrecienmil Foundation in its fight against childhood leukemia.
After one year since the project's inception, Martín has accumulated 9,143 kilometers run, with an elevation gain of 184,650 meters. To stay true to the cinematic inspiration, the athlete has adopted the same attire and beard and hair style as the character portrayed by Tom Hanks.
The primary objective of this initiative is to raise societal awareness about the work of the Unoentrecienmil Foundation in childhood cancer research. Throughout the first year, sports gatherings called SocialGump have been organized, the first of which took place in Vícar in April, to encourage participation and accumulate kilometers in support of the cause.
The challenge, which began on October 1, 2025, and is scheduled to conclude on December 17, 2028, requires an average of 26 to 27 kilometers per day, equating to approximately 700 kilometers per month.
