The Brotherhood of El Perdón in Córdoba will hold elections for its head on Friday, June 5th. Cristina Morales Mangas is the sole candidate, seeking to succeed Jesús Campos. Morales, who served as deputy for penitential station and protocol in the outgoing board, proposes a continuity project under the motto 'Together we are Forgiveness'.
Morales's team includes María Muñoz as deputy head, David Mohedano as treasurer, and Conchi Benítez as secretary. In her letter to the brothers, the candidate expressed her "enthusiasm, commitment, and devotion" to strengthen the brotherhood's legacy, pledging to work with "rigor, transparency, and closeness" to advance significant projects. Her priorities include spiritual formation, increased charitable action, improved internal and external communication, and greater participation from young people and families.
During Jesús Campos's term, which began in June 2022, the brotherhood moved its canonical seat from San Roque church to the Parish of La Trinidad, while maintaining its penitential station at San Roque. Additionally, its brotherhood house on Camino de los Sastres street was opened, and advancements were made in the goldsmithing and tapestry work for the float of María Santísima del Rocío y Lágrimas.
The mystery float of Nuestro Padre Jesús del Perdón participated in the Great Via Crucis 'Córdoba, Via Sacra of the West' in October 2025. On that occasion and during the 2026 penitential station, the float was fully restored, thanks to a conservation grant for cofrade heritage from the Provincial Council of Córdoba. The embroidery workshop of El Perdón, led by José Luis Guerra, has fostered training and the creation of pieces such as a gold waistband for the Virgin.
