The anticipation for the 2026 World Cup football final between Spain and Argentina has led numerous municipalities in the province of Córdoba to set up public spaces for fans to enjoy the collective experience. Squares, swimming pools, and municipal venues will become gathering points to follow what many hope will be a victory for the national team.
In Lucena, the main town of the Subbética region, a giant screen has been installed in the Plaza Nueva. Starting before 9:00 PM, attendees can enjoy pre-match animations.
In the Campiña Sur region, Montilla will offer the broadcast on the Avenida de Andalucía. Meanwhile, in Los Pedroches, several towns will have viewing points, such as Hinojosa del Duque, which will set up the Plaza de la Catedral de la Sierra for an intense experience of the match.
Other municipalities joining the initiative include Villafranca de Córdoba, using the municipal fairground booth; Montoro, in Virgen de Gracia park; Adamuz, in Tremesina Park; and Villanueva de Córdoba, in Plaza de España.
In the Alto Guadalquivir region, residents of Cañete de las Torres can follow the final from the municipal swimming pool, which has been prepared for the occasion. In Baena, the chosen location is the Campo de Jaro, with a capacity for 1,200 chairs, and food and a bar are planned.
