From Tuesday, April 7, the municipalities of Córdoba become the epicenter of craftsmanship, asserting its value as a cultural identity. The initiative seeks not only to disseminate artisanal heritage but also to foster inclusion, opening activities to groups with special needs and those at risk of social exclusion.
The Artisan Interest Zones (ZIA) of the province are the protagonists, with artisans showcasing traditional techniques and creative processes. The program began in Castro del Río, where students from IES Ategua participated in olive wood workshops, taught by Mariano Bracero, and vegetable fiber, led by José Bueno Oliva.
Activities will continue until Friday, April 10. On Thursday, April 9, La Rambla will offer pottery workshops with Carmen del Río, Soledad del Río, and José del Río from Alfar Escuela. On the same day, in the Los Pedroches region, the Ofiarpe association will organize soap and natural cosmetics workshops with Esperanza Galán Rubio and Isabel Redondo Rojas, and a lathe demonstration by Francisco Javier Sánchez Gómez at IES Cecilio.
On Friday, April 10, Montilla will host an artistic openwork workshop with Joaquín Feria Priego at the Fundación Futuro Singular and an aromatherapy workshop with Olga Salvachua. Simultaneously, the historic center of Córdoba city will host glass workshops, taught by Rosa Montes Benítez, and fan-making, led by Rocío Valenzuela Pintado, organized by the Córdoba Artisans Association (ACA).
During the week, distinctive plaques for the 'Handicraft Made in Andalucía' brand will also be awarded to companies and professionals registered in the Andalusian Craft Registry. Additionally, the Wood School of the Andalusian Employment Service, in Encinas Reales and Villa del Río, will offer live workshops and demonstrations, including artistic turning and furniture recycling. All activities are free and open to the public.
