The Department of Tourism of the Mijas City Council has scheduled a new edition of the Latin Night for Wednesday, August 26th. The event, aimed at offering open-air summer leisure alternatives, will take place at the Torreón Square in La Cala de Mijas starting at 9:00 PM.
The evening will feature performances by Savia Viva and Nayza y Kafekonlé, who will present a repertoire of Cuban, Latin, and Caribbean music. The goal is to liven up summer nights and boost activity in the municipality's districts.
“"We want to continue offering alternatives to enjoy summer nights in Mijas and, at the same time, generate activity in our districts. The Latin Night brings together music, culture, and a privileged setting like the Torreón Square, so we believe it has all the ingredients for a great night."
Savia Viva, a project led by Cuban singer Iliana Labrada, will showcase a repertoire including traditional trova, habaneras, and son, highlighting Cuba's musical roots with a warm interpretation.
Councillor for Tourism, Francisco Jerez, emphasized the importance of these activities in complementing Mijas's tourist offerings, providing experiences beyond beaches and heritage. "With these types of proposals, we offer another reason to go out, discover La Cala, enjoy its establishments, and experience the municipality after dark," he explained.
The initiative, which is free to attend, aims for residents and visitors to enjoy a different kind of night with good music and the characteristic summer atmosphere of La Cala.
