The Andalusian Center of Letters (CAL) has organized a new session of its Poetry in the Center series in Córdoba, dedicated to commemorating the quarter-century of one of the most significant publications by a Cordoban poet. The work in question, El hilo roto: poemas del contestador automático, was published by Pre-Textos.
The event will feature several experts who will analyze the work, including Pedro Ruiz Pérez, María Ángeles Hermosilla, Pablo García Casado, and Bernd Dietz. Additionally, a reading of poems from the book will be performed by Fátima Ramos, Ana Carmen Roldán, María Pizarro, Lola Gallego, Pilar Sanabria, Isadora Santos, and Manuel Ángel Jiménez. The event will be moderated by Antonio Luis Ginés, with live guitar music by Juan Pablo Luna.
The celebration will take place this Wednesday, May 6, at 7:30 PM at the Grupo Cántico Public Library, located on Avenida de América. Admission will be free until full capacity is reached.
The poet, born in Córdoba in 1945, is considered an essential figure in Cordoban poetry. He founded the magazines Antorcha de paja and La manzana poética, and is recognized as one of the most prominent members of the Generation of '70, serving as a bridge between the Cántico Group and the new poetry that emerged in the city at the end of the 20th century. His literary career began with Los soldados in 1973, and the publication of Tránsito in 1994 marked a turning point in his work.
