The company Lances de Futuro has finalized the posters for the Córdoba Bullfighting Fair for the year 2026, which will be held at the Los Califas bullring. The cycle, which includes three bullfights, one 'rejones' (mounted bullfighting) event, and one novillada with picadores, will take place over two key weekends: May 16 and 17, coinciding with the second weekend of the Patios de Córdoba and the Andalusian elections, and May 22, 23, and 24, marking the beginning of the Feria de Nuestra Señora de la Salud.
The most anticipated lineup will be on Sunday, May 24, featuring José María Manzanares, Juan Ortega, and Pablo Aguado, who will face bulls from the Domingo Hernández ranch. A week earlier, on Sunday, May 17, Daniel Luque, David de Miranda, and the Cordovan bullfighter Manuel Román will step into the arena, returning to Los Califas a year after his alternative, facing bulls from Juan Pedro Domecq. This date coincides with the regional elections, a factor that had generated speculation about its impact on the fair.
The second bullfight will take place on Friday, May 22, the day the Arenal fairgrounds open. In this event, Borja Jiménez will share the bill with young matadors Víctor Hernández and Marco Pérez, fighting bulls from Núñez de Tarifa, a ranch from the Portuguese Alentejo. Víctor Hernández will complete his third year of alternative, while Marco Pérez, 18, is an emerging figure celebrating his first anniversary as a bullfighter.
The novillada with picadores, scheduled for Saturday, May 16, will feature Cordovan Manuel Quintana, alongside Salmantino Julio Norte and Mexican Emiliano Osornio, facing novillos from El Cotillo (Hermanos Collado Ruiz). Saturday, May 23, will be dedicated to mounted bullfighting, with a 'rejones' event presenting Sergio Galán, Lea Vicens, and Sebastián Fernández, with bulls from Benítez Cubero-Pallarés. Notably absent from this edition are figures such as Morante de la Puebla and Roca Rey.
This edition of the fair, the first with five events since José María Garzón took over the management of the bullring, seeks to consolidate the growth in audience experienced in recent years, especially among younger fans. Details regarding prices and deadlines for purchasing tickets and season passes will be announced soon.
