The Primera FEB for the 2026-2027 season now has its three new participants from the Segunda FEB. Following the promotion already secured by Coto Córdoba, Caja87 from Seville and Albacete Básket completed the lineup this weekend after winning their respective promotion playoffs.
Sevillian basketball thus regains its presence in the second national division with Caja87, an ambitious project that has achieved promotion in two years and takes over from previous initiatives. The Seville-based team earned its spot after defeating Sant Antoni de Ibiza in a playoff decided in the second leg, where a 19-point advantage gained at home proved sufficient despite a 71-56 loss on the island.
With these promotions, next season's Primera FEB will feature three Andalusian teams: Coto Córdoba, Covirán Granada, and Caja87 from Seville.
Meanwhile, Albacete Básket secured the final promotion spot by defeating Amics Castelló, the champion of the Segunda FEB's East Group, twice. The team from Albacete, which had already lost the champions' playoff against Coto Córdoba, first succumbed at home by a narrow 70-64 margin and then clinched their promotion in Castellón with a 66-68 score, achieving one of the season's surprises.
The composition of the 2026-27 Primera FEB is completed by teams relegated from the ACB (Covirán Granada and Dreamland Gran Canaria), those remaining in the category (Hestia Menorca, Fuenlabrada, HLA Alicante, Guipúzcoa, Zamora, Grupo Alega Cantabria, Ourense Baloncesto, Tizona Burgos, Fibwi Palma, Palmer Básket), and the three promoted teams. The remaining three spots will be determined by the final playoff for promotion to the Liga ACB.
