The handover, which took place this Thursday at the Food Bank's headquarters in the capital of Córdoba, concludes an action linked to the past 2024-2025 olive harvesting agricultural campaign. The donated oil comes from olives recovered during interventions by the Civil Guard where no known owner could be identified.
These olives, once recovered, were deposited in cooperatives associated with Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de Córdoba. The donation highlights the close collaboration between the Civil Guard, the Territorial Delegation of Agriculture, and Agro-food Cooperatives, a joint effort aimed at preventing theft, detecting irregularities, and strengthening security in the Cordoban countryside during each campaign.
During the 2024-2025 campaign, both training and operational actions were carried out, including informational sessions for farmers and cooperative members, as well as inspections at olive purchasing points throughout the province and even in neighboring provinces. Controls also extended to the transportation of the product.
Agents from Citizen Security and the ROCA teams of the Civil Guard, in collaboration with the quality inspection services of the Territorial Delegation of Agriculture, detected numerous administrative irregularities. These led to the opening of 102 sanctioning proceedings, primarily for incorrect completion or absence of the Transport Accompanying Document (DAT) and lack of registration in the Andalusian Register of Agricultural and Forestry Holdings (REAFA).
Institutional collaboration also enabled action against a purchasing point in a neighboring province for alleged receipt of stolen olives. In this operation, three individuals were investigated for receiving stolen goods, and eight others for theft of olives and document forgery.
The three institutions emphasized the importance of this collaboration as a 'fundamental' tool for combating the scourge of theft from agricultural holdings and announced the continuation of joint inspections, as well as the reinforcement of social responsibility initiatives and aid to vulnerable groups.
