Undergraduate students at the Pablo de Olavide University began classes for the 2026-2027 academic year on Monday, September 14. The day marks the return of teaching activities and student presence on campus.
The new academic year starts with significant changes in the academic offerings. Notably, the dual training model has been introduced in three degree programs: Computer Engineering in Information Systems, Data Science, and the new Degree in Finance, Accounting, and Auditing. This model combines university education with paid professional experience in companies and institutions, allowing selected students to spend up to 80% of their academic time in a collaborating entity.
Furthermore, the Degree in Finance, Accounting, and Auditing and the Double Degree in Law and Finance, Accounting, and Auditing are being implemented. New specialization tracks are also added in Economic Analysis (Data Intelligence and Economics and Sustainability), Biotechnology (Industrial; Biomedical; and Environmental and Agri-food), and Human Nutrition and Dietetics (Sports Nutrition; Clinical Nutrition and Health Promotion; and Food Industry and Enterprises).
The UPO's total offering for 2026-2027 includes 49 degrees and double degrees, with 3,038 new student places, an increase of 142 from the previous year. Of these, 2,328 are offered directly by the UPO and 710 by the San Isidoro University Center.
With the arrival of master's, international, and doctoral students, the university expects to host over 13,000 students during the 2026-2027 academic year.
