The fortune was distributed with one ticket winning six million euros and nine other tickets, each awarded 40,000 euros. Meléndez, who has been an ONCE vendor since 2013, typically operates in the Vistazul neighborhood.
Although the vendor believes he sold the nine 40,000 euro tickets at an iron materials company in the La Isla industrial park, and another to a resident of the Las Portadas neighborhood who always plays the number ending in 8, the identity of the six million euro main prize winner remains unknown.
“"I also had another 8, but it wasn't that one, but I'm happier than if I had won it myself."
Meléndez, who is five years away from retirement, emphasizes that interacting with people is the most rewarding aspect of his job. He considers himself the "neighborhood lottery vendor" and values the interaction with the diverse people he meets, many of whom seek companionship.
In addition to the substantial amount in Dos Hermanas, the same draw on April 10 also distributed another 400,000 euros in La Línea de la Concepción, Cádiz, with ten tickets winning 40,000 euros each. Another 360,000 euros (nine five-digit tickets) were distributed near the Emergency Department of the Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Victoria Hospital in Málaga. In total, the Cuponazo has distributed over 7.1 million euros in major prizes across these three Andalusian provinces.
Nationally, this Cuponazo has distributed a total of nine million euros in major prizes across five autonomous communities: Andalusia, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha, the Community of Madrid, and the Valencian Community.
