The municipality of Mairena del Aljarafe has launched a public tender for the construction of 102 official protection homes (VPO) intended for sale. This initiative is part of the new Municipal Housing Plan and its main objective is to increase the supply of accessible homes for local youth and families, amidst rising real estate market costs.
The tender, managed by the Municipal Urban Planning Department, includes the sale of a municipal plot located in the 'Carretera de Almensilla I' sector, between the Monastery of La Purísima Concepción and the Sirio building. The awarded entity will be obligated to build the planned VPO on this land, which is being tendered for 1.23 million euros.
One of the notable clauses in the tender requires that the future homes be marketed at a price lower than the maximum set by the Junta de Andalucía. Offers proposing an additional reduction of at least 10% on the final price will receive special consideration, with this affordability criterion accounting for 60 out of the total 100 points for the award.
Interested companies have until August 10th to submit their proposals through the Public Sector Contracting Platform. Subsequently, the Municipal Urban Planning Department will evaluate the bids based on the established criteria to select the most advantageous offer.
This tender represents a "decisive step" within the Municipal Housing Plan, as communicated by the council. It is worth noting that the municipal plenary approved in February the expansion of the plan's first phase, adding 208 additional protected homes to the initially planned 449, bringing the total to 657.
To be eligible for these future protected homes, interested individuals must be registered in the Municipal Registry of Housing Demanders. The registration process can be completed in person at the Municipal Housing Office or online via the City Council's electronic headquarters. Required documentation includes DNI/NIE, latest income tax return, family record book if applicable, proof of residency, and, in certain cases, documentation certifying belonging to special protection groups.
