The local government considers this education a fundamental tool for the training of young people with special educational needs (SEN), lamenting that its elimination represents an additional detriment to families and limits opportunities for access to the labor market on equal terms. This situation adds to the scarcity of resources already faced by families with students with hearing and language deficits in the municipality.
The City Council criticizes that the measure represents a "progressive weakening of public vocational training in Mairena del Aljarafe," pointing out that the Junta de Andalucía has not incorporated new public training cycles for 26 years. The council highlights that hospitality and restoration are strategic sectors for the local economy, and that local companies repeatedly report difficulties in finding qualified professionals, making the elimination of this training cycle "incomprehensible."
Therefore, the City Council urges the Junta de Andalucía to rectify its decision and maintain the public vocational training offer. Furthermore, the council notes the lack of news regarding the construction of the fifth public institute in the municipality, an educational infrastructure that should give significant weight to vocational training and is considered "essential" to address population growth and the educational needs of the locality.
