The Xerez CD Basketball team continues its dream of promotion to Liga Femenina 2. The team from Jerez will participate in the Final Phase for the Andalusian title in Group D of the National Women's League 1 (LNF1), which will be held at the 'Juan Gómez' Sports Pavilion in Fuengirola (Málaga).
The city of Jerez, which had been a candidate to host the event, as in the previous season, was ultimately ruled out by the Federation due to organizational issues, as the tournament dates coincide with the Feria del Caballo.
After finishing as group champions in the regular competition, Xerez CD faced Unicaja in the playoff round leading to this Final Four. The team had to work hard to achieve its goal, overcoming a 68-62 loss in Málaga with a convincing 69-53 victory at Ruiz-Mateo.
The team led by Trini Bou will debut in this final phase against Ciudad de Moguer on Friday, May 15, at 6:00 PM. On Saturday, they will play against Clínica Angular Málaga Basket at 5:00 PM, and will conclude their participation on Sunday, May 17, at 12:30 PM against CB Salliver Fuengirola Higuerón Hotel.
The four qualified teams will play a round-robin league. The top two teams in Fuengirola will earn the right to participate in the National Promotion Phase, scheduled for the first weekend of June. In this phase, 16 teams will be divided into two venues with two groups of four each, and the champions of the four groups will be promoted to LF2.
