The incident occurred this Sunday, August 9, when a patrol boat from the Provincial Maritime Service of Huelva detected a vessel approaching Punta Umbría with an excessive load. Upon signaling it to stop, the crew threw several packages overboard in an escape attempt.
Agents managed to recover the discarded packages, which contained a total of 27 bales of cocaine. The total weight of the seized drug exceeds 800 kilograms. The narcotic substance was transferred to Civil Guard facilities.
The Civil Guard continues its investigation to identify the boat's occupants and clarify the circumstances of the operation. The intervention has successfully removed a significant quantity of drugs from the illicit market.
