The regional Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development visited the fair this Thursday, a biennial event that has become a key meeting point in southeastern Spain. The gathering brings together farmers, businesses, cooperatives, researchers, and administrations to showcase the latest advancements in technology, plant protection products, irrigation, sustainability, and agricultural digitalization.

Most participating companies are Andalusian, ranging from agricultural producers and marketers to auxiliary sectors like seeds, fertilizers, innovation, and agricultural machinery. These companies have been instrumental in developing a leading, innovative, and competitive agricultural model that not only supplies Europe but also projects the image of Andalusia globally.
The local mayor highlighted the successful turnout of professionals and visitors, which solidifies the fair as an international reference. He emphasized that the municipality's agricultural sector not only maintains its strength but continues to grow with ambition, innovation, and leadership capacity, demonstrating its solid and competitive model.
Níjar, the fair's host municipality, is a pioneer in organic farming in Europe, with over 6,000 cultivated hectares, more than half of which are certified organic. This edition features specialized commercial exhibitions, technical and informative sessions, and presentations on greenhouse technology with a sustainable approach. The previous edition was a resounding success, with over 400 stands and 30,000 professional visitors.
This year, an increase in exhibitor presence is expected in sectors such as seed companies and plastic manufacturers. Additionally, scientific-technical conferences focusing on tomatoes and plant health will be held, including events like the World Tomato Congress and the World Thrips Parvispinus Congress.
