“"We have taken a giant step in the restoration of this heritage jewel for all the people of Baza, but there is still much to be done. Fortunately, the intervention has allowed us to secure and consolidate the building's structure to halt its deterioration. Now, we must continue with its more detailed treatment, always following the criteria and indications of the technicians. Unfortunately, the neglect of so many years is more than evident and is significantly conditioning the progress of the work. However, our objective is to not stop and continue rebuilding this great palace that has so much to offer to the future tourism and culture of Baza."

Rehabilitation works at the historic Palacio de los Enríquez in Baza are progressing, with roofs renewed and work on walls and dependencies uncovering archaeological finds.
The mayor of Baza, Pedro J. Ramos, accompanied by the Councilor for Urban Planning and Heritage, Mª Carmen López, and the municipal architect, Aurora García, have visited the renovation works of the Palacio de los Enríquez. Project managers, technicians, and representatives of the executing company also participated in the visit.
The building is undergoing full rehabilitation, with the roofs already completely renewed and consolidated. Currently, work is underway on reconstructing the exterior wall and in the dependencies of the north wing, where archaeological discoveries have been made that could alter the understanding of this Renaissance palace's origin. Scaffolding remains on the interior facades and the rear garden area.
The municipal government team aims to advance the rehabilitation as much as the budget allows, with the goal of establishing the palace as a tourist attraction showcasing its history and architectural richness.
