The young student from Antequera, Nahia, has achieved an exceptional score of 13.93 out of 14 in the university entrance exams (Selectividad), a figure that surpassed her own expectations and left her "almost in disbelief" when she saw it on screen on June 11th.
Before the exams, Nahia had calculated her potential grades, expecting to score between 13.1 and 13.4. The final score, almost six tenths above her prediction, has filled her with joy. Her study method was based on consistency throughout her two years of Bachillerato, paying attention in class, taking notes, and keeping up with daily study.
For theoretical subjects like Philosophy, Nahia created her own summaries that she repeated aloud, while in Latin and Greek, she focused on practical work with texts. She admits that her intensive preparation for the Selectividad began nine days before the test, with a flexible schedule that combined literature in the mornings and classical subjects in the afternoons, interspersed with breaks such as walks with her dog and time for drawing or reading.
With this brilliant score, Nahia has a clear academic future: she will study Translation and Interpretation (English) at the University of Granada. Her long-term ambition is to become an interpreter for the European Union, although she also considers teaching Spanish to foreigners as an alternative.
During the course, her hobbies such as reading, drawing, and crafts served as an escape. Nahia also wanted to give special thanks to her Latin and Greek teacher, Fernando, from IES Los Colegiales, whom she considers "much more than a teacher" for making her time at the institute a "very beautiful experience".
Nahia's story joins the outstanding results of other students in the province, reminding future generations that sustained effort throughout the course is key to achieving academic success.
