The works, part of the Andalusian government's Extraordinary Asphalting Plan, are primarily carried out at night to minimize traffic disruption and ensure worker safety. A total of 22 kilometers of the highway will be addressed.
The first section, between kilometers 141 and 151, has already been completed. The next phase, covering kilometers 154 to 176, is scheduled from the last week of August to the first week of September. The work focuses on areas identified by technicians as most deteriorated.
The Regional Ministry of Public Works and Mobility emphasized that these actions aim to maintain one of Andalusia's main road arteries in good condition. The current plan includes work on 126 kilometers of the A-92 across several provinces, with a total investment of 151.5 million euros for the entire autonomous community, of which 17.5 million are allocated to the province of Málaga.
The works include repairing potholes, milling and repaving, restoring lower road layers, and laying new asphalt mixes. Horizontal signage will also be repainted, and containment and marking elements will be renewed.
