The Dólmenes de Antequera Archaeological Ensemble has been designated by the Ministry of Culture, Historical Heritage, and Sport as an official site to witness the solar eclipse. This activity, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the dolmens' declaration as a World Heritage site, will allow attendees to enjoy the astronomical phenomenon with complete visual safety.
The maximum solar obscuration is expected around 8:37 PM. In Andalusia, the eclipse will begin to be visible from 7:40 PM, reaching its peak between 8:30 PM and 8:40 PM. The event at the Dolmens of Antequera will commence at 7:42 PM.
To ensure visitors' eye protection, the archaeological site will provide certified glasses free of charge. Despite the protection, it is recommended to take viewing breaks of 2 to 3 minutes to avoid prolonged exposure to the phenomenon.
This initiative joins other similar activities organized in natural spaces and archaeological sites in the region, such as Sierra Nevada, Ategua in Córdoba, and Cástulo in Jaén.
