The mayor of Antequera expressed satisfaction with the allocation of this aid, which will be directly invested in key infrastructures for rural development. This funding will address the damage sustained by the roads due to adverse weather, ensuring their functionality for the primary sector and the local population.
“"A new demonstration of the Junta's commitment to Antequera and our primary sector, against those who prefer to muddy the public debate rather than acknowledge a historic investment for our municipality."
The mayor also criticized the PSOE of Antequera, accusing them of attempting to mislead public opinion by conflating different aid programs to construct a "false narrative of grievance." He emphasized that while the opposition seeks easy headlines, the reality is that the Junta de Andalucía has provided significant investment for the improvement of the municipality's rural roads.
“"While the PSOE goes out to make easy opposition headlines, the reality is that the Junta de Andalucía has granted Antequera almost half a million euros to improve our rural roads. That is the difference between useful politics and noisy politics."
The mayor clarified that the aid referred to by the PSOE pertains to a specific decree for municipal infrastructure damage, which Antequera City Council could not access because the incidents did not meet the required severity outlined in the regulations. He insisted that Antequera has not been discriminated against; on the contrary, it has significantly benefited from these investments.
The approved actions for Antequera include interventions on seven rural roads, with the following allocated amounts:
- Molinillo Lentiscar Road: 134,095.11€
- Almogía Road: 76,108.03€
- Bobadilla to Campillos Road: 69,463.68€
- Cartaojal to Cuevas Bajas Road: 74,748.96€
- Las Pedrizas to Villanueva de la Concepción Road: 18,120.96€
- La Joya to Valle de Abdalajís Road: 21,745.16€
- Las Pedrizas to Boca del Asno Road: 95,437.07€
Finally, the mayor urged the local PSOE to act with "more rigor, more responsibility, and less artificial confrontation politics," highlighting that the consistent efforts of the Municipal Government yield concrete results, such as those granted by the Junta de Andalucía for improving rural infrastructures.
