The incident occurred between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM on Sindicalista Luis Cobos Street in Algeciras, near the city center. The victim was attacked from behind with a large machete, according to police sources.
Following the assault, the injured man received attention from emergency services and was transported to Punta de Europa University Hospital. There, emergency doctors applied several stitches. Fortunately, the victim is in stable condition and out of danger, recovering from his injuries.
The two attackers attempted to flee on foot towards the La Bajadilla neighborhood, but their escape was quickly intercepted by National Police officers, who located and arrested them on Valladolid Street. During the operation, the weapon used in the attack was also recovered.
The Specialized and Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) of the National Police has taken charge of the investigation to clarify the details of the incident and determine the exact motive for the aggression, which is being considered a possible settling of scores.
