Daniel Rojas, originally from La Línea, was congratulated by the mayor for his distinguished career. Rojas studied Chemistry at the University of Alcalá, where he began as an internal student and conducted research in electrochemistry and sensors. He later pursued a master's degree in Electrochemistry at the Autonomous University of Madrid and doctoral studies between the University of Alcalá and the University of Teramo in Italy. His doctoral research focused on the development of electrochemical sensors, with a particular emphasis on incorporating antioxidant and oxidative compounds in living cells.
Following his doctoral work, Daniel Rojas undertook a post-doctoral position at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. There, he worked with a research group focused on fabricating electrochemical devices using commercial 3D printers, with a specific emphasis on developing electrochemical sensors.
The knowledge gained in Brno was subsequently applied at the University of Alcalá, where 3D-printed sensors were also developed. Similarly, he applied this technology at the Catholic University of San Antonio of Murcia, focusing on applications for monitoring sports practices.
Mayor Juan Franco extended his congratulations to Rojas, expressing pride in having citizens like him, whose professional trajectory is considered extraordinary for the city.
