The eighth edition of the Solidarity Night Race 'Corre por la Igualdad' (Run for Equality) will fill the streets of Los Barrios on Friday, July 3rd. The race, organized by the La Montera Association for People with Disabilities in collaboration with the Town Hall of the Villa, will kick off at 9:30 PM from the Plaza de la Iglesia, covering a five-kilometer urban circuit.
The high demand for registrations means that, with over two weeks still to go before the event, very few bibs remain available, demonstrating the strong support this solidarity initiative has garnered in previous editions.
For those who wish to support the cause without actively participating, the organization is keeping the Dorsal 0 (Bib 0) option open. All proceeds will be allocated to fund the work carried out by the La Montera Association.
The race is open to both registered and unregistered runners, and will feature various categories ranging from Under-18 to Masters +65. The route will pass through the main streets of the urban center before returning to the start and finish line at the Plaza de la Iglesia. The race control will close at 10:30 PM.
As a complementary activity, a photography contest has been announced, open to participants over 18 years old. Up to three original and unpublished images capturing the essence of the sporting event will be awarded. Photographs must be submitted via email between July 5th and July 10th, along with the corresponding registration form. This initiative aims to collect images from the day and recognize the best snapshots of an event that brings together sport and solidarity.
Furthermore, as a pre-event gathering, a meeting for participants has been organized for Friday, June 19th, starting at 9:00 PM.
