The municipal beach sports facilities of the Ayuntamiento de La Línea de la Concepción, situated on Santa Bárbara beach, will host two significant national beach volleyball competitions between July 30 and August 7. The official presentation included the mayor, Juan Franco; the vice-president of the Diputación Provincial de Cádiz, Javier Vidal; the delegate councilor for Sports, Alejandro Rodríguez; the head of beach volleyball for the Andalusian Volleyball Federation, Fernando Pérez Ruiz; and the head of the organization, Juan Antonio Rosano.
The first event, running from July 30 to August 2, is the national 3-star competition of the national beach volleyball circuit, featuring 24 male and 24 female pairs. Subsequently, from August 2 to 7, the municipal courts will host the U-19 Spanish Championship, with 32 male and 32 female pairs competing for the national titles.
Mayor Juan Franco highlighted the city's consolidation as a summer sports hub. "La Línea is becoming a benchmark throughout the province of Cádiz and even at the Andalusian level. Following the handball and beach soccer championships, we are seeing a very important influx of public, leaving a magnificent image of the city", he stated.
The delegate councilor for Sports, Alejandro Rodríguez, emphasized the support from various federations following the success of previous events. "They trust La Línea again to inaugurate facilities where clubs and athletes have been very satisfied. Now we are hosting the top category in beach volleyball with the best pairs in the country, which is a great draw for visitors who can also enjoy our gastronomic culture", he affirmed.
The Diputación de Cádiz financed the construction of this space. Its vice-president, Javier Vidal, stressed that the investment aims to provide a permanent facility for beach sports for year-round use by local entities, adding that the facilities are already promoting the creation of a new beach soccer club in the municipality.
Fernando Pérez Ruiz, from the Andalusian Volleyball Federation, described the venue as "impressive" due to its central location, assuring that attendees will witness a top-level spectacle with international players. Juan Antonio Rosano, representing the organization, thanked the joint institutional commitment from the Ayuntamiento and the Diputación, noting that national federations continue to propose La Línea as a venue for their main championships due to the technical quality of the infrastructure.
