The historic and natural enclave of the La Hedionda Baths, located in Casares (Málaga), has reopened this summer with a key measure: mandatory prior reservation. This initiative aims to ensure the preservation of the monument and manage visitor numbers during peak demand months.
Considered one of the most unique thermal baths in the province of Málaga, the La Hedionda Baths attract thousands of people annually seeking to enjoy its sulfurous waters and natural surroundings. Tradition even attributes Julius Caesar as someone who benefited from the properties of these ancient waters.
Since this summer, access to the interior of the dome protecting the baths is strictly regulated through a reservation system. The objective is to control capacity and ensure the preservation of this historical monument.
Reservations to visit the La Hedionda Baths are now available through the Eventbrite platform and cover all summer months. Additionally, since early June, the site has had a lifeguard service and a surveillance team for both the baths and the parking area, enhancing visitor safety.
The Casares City Council has promoted these measures to optimize safety and preserve one of the most emblematic natural and heritage sites in Andalucía. This Roman enclave thus solidifies itself as a notable plan for those seeking a different getaway near the Campo de Gibraltar.
