The institutional visit served to evaluate the role of the Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar as a connection point between European Union policies and the region's inhabitants. During the meeting, the advisory work carried out by the center for companies, educational institutions, and public administrations was highlighted.
The European Commission leadership in Spain emphasized the importance of bringing community information closer to citizens in a rigorous and accessible manner. In this regard, the center's track record, operational since 1999, was noted as a fundamental channel for disseminating European values in the territory.
The visit also addressed upcoming European anniversaries, such as the 40th anniversary of Spain's accession to the European Union, as well as future milestones like the 70th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome and the 30th anniversary of the Erasmus + program, key initiatives for fostering cooperation and active citizenship among new generations.
