The Plenary of the Montilla City Council held its ordinary session this Wednesday for September, during which important agreements on security, administrative modernization, and city projection were approved. The three municipal groups, PSOE, Partido Popular, and Izquierda Unida, supported most of the proposals.
One of the key points was the approval of the draft for the new Local Territorial Emergency Plan. The Councilor for Citizen Security, Valeriano Rosales, highlighted the need to update this instrument to adapt it to the current needs of Montilla and improve the response capacity to emergencies.
The modification of the Framework Agreement and its annex for the Local Police, dated July 2026, was also approved. The first deputy mayor, Lidia Bujalance, explained that this agreement aims to improve citizen well-being and the functioning of an essential public service.
In the area of innovation, Montilla joins the Innpulso Network. Lidia Bujalance, Councilor for City Model, emphasized the opportunities for collaboration and development of new projects that this network offers alongside other participating municipalities.
Finally, it was agreed to submit Montilla's candidacy for Spanish Wine City 2027. This initiative aims to enhance the city's projection and highlight its wine identity and heritage.
Regarding motions, the three municipal groups presented proposals supporting the city of Ceuta, demonstrating the municipal corporation's backing for the autonomous city.
