The game, which had been postponed in February due to storms affecting Andalucía, allowed the Algeciras team to catch up in the competition. Despite having played the previous day in Mijas, the team showed great recovery and determination on the court at the Doctor Juan Carlos Mateo pavilion.
From the outset, the home side took the lead, establishing an 11-6 advantage after fifteen minutes thanks to their effective offense. By halftime, BM Ciudad de Algeciras already enjoyed a comfortable 17-11 lead. In the second half, the team maintained its level, at one point holding a nearly ten-goal difference, although Herencia managed to narrow the gap in the final minutes.
The Algeciras offense stood out for its collective play, with Gonzalo Cervera leading the scoring with six goals, followed by Pablo Medina with five, and Dani Hernández and Pedro Saucedo, both with four goals. The senior men's team, coached by Iñaki Pérez, is now in seventh place with 34 points, with two matches remaining in the league.
BM Ciudad de Algeciras's next fixture will be on April 18, when they host Palma del Río at 7:00 PM.
