Montijazz is gearing up for a historic edition as it commemorates its tenth anniversary. The Córdoba-based festival, known for its fusion of avant-garde music and wine heritage, will take place on September 11th and 12th at the iconic Bodegas Alvear.
The first day, Friday, September 11th, will feature the return of artists who left a significant mark on previous editions. The lineup includes trumpeter and singer Alba Careta, presenting her new album Panical, and saxophonist and vocalist Antonio Lizana, who will blend contemporary jazz with authentic flamenco roots.
On Saturday, September 12th, the festival will present a program balancing emerging talent and seasoned veterans. The evening will open with the Lucía Rey Trío, recognized for their international projection in piano music. The grand finale will feature the legendary Jorge Pardo Trío, a global exponent of jazz and flamenco fusion.
The lineup reveal took place in the courtyard of Bodegas Alvear, attended by the president of Jazz Amontillado, the organizing collective, along with institutional and business representatives. The mayor of Montilla, Rafael Llamas, described the festival as one of the municipality's most prominent cultural activities, highlighting its artistic quality and contribution to economic and social development.
Luis Giménez, commercial director of Bodegas Alvear, reaffirmed the company's commitment to local culture and its continuous support for the festival since its inception, emphasizing the value of these gatherings in showcasing the city's architectural and enological heritage.
