The II Gamba Fest Comedy promises three days of humor in Huelva, from October 22nd to 24th. The event will feature leading comedy figures, such as El Monaguillo and Salva Reina, alongside local talent, offering theater, monologues, and jokes across different city stages.
Most of the events will be held at the Palacio de Congresos de la Casa Colón. The program kicks off on Thursday, October 22nd, with Sergio Fernández El Monaguillo's show at 8:00 PM. The festival will also extend to other locations like the Foro Iberoamericano de La Rábida, the Patio del Amor of the Hospital Juan Ramón Jiménez, and the La Orden senior residence, in addition to gastronomic events at hospitality establishments.
On Friday, October 23rd, Salva Reina will present his performance 'Prohibido echarle cacahuetes al mono' (Don't Touch the Monkey's Peanuts). The following day, Saturday, October 24th, the Casa Colón will host the comedy 'No me toques el cuento' (Don't Touch My Story), a version of fairy tales from a different perspective, as indicated by the organizers.
In the monologue segment, Huelva-born actress Cristina Momper will debut on Friday, October 23rd, at the bar Kanino. On Saturday, October 24th, Chemi Moreno will perform at the bar La Embajada, followed by a DJ set. The chirigota (a type of musical group) 'Los auténticos' will perform at the La Orden senior residence, while Ana Barroso and don Acevedo will offer the storytelling 'Sin lobo no hay cuento' (No Wolf, No Story) at the Hospital Juan Ramón Jiménez, an activity that will also be repeated on Saturday morning at the Foro Iberoamericano.
The Councilor for Culture and Archaeological Heritage, Nacho Molina, highlighted the festival's importance, calling its first edition "one of the great milestones" and stating that this event consolidates Huelva as a benchmark for humor in Spain. He thanked the promoters Marcos Gualda and Marcos Arizmendi for their work.
For her part, the Deputy of Culture, Gracia Baquero, emphasized the Provincial Council's involvement, stressing that the festival "originates here and features our artists," while also opening doors to national names without neglecting local talent.
Tickets for the performances by El Monaguillo, Salva Reina, and the comedy 'No me toques el cuento' are now available on the municipal online sales platform, with prices starting from 22 euros.
The event is organized by the Huelva City Council, with the collaboration of the Provincial Council, the Port of Huelva, the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur, and Antares. Production is by Somos Arte and Ateneo Alternativo Antonio Carrasco Suárez.
