On November 13, 14, and 15, the wine cooperative of Aguilar de la Frontera will host the open tasting event ‘Pontefino’, an initiative supported by the Provincial Council of Córdoba through Iprodeco to showcase the province's wines.

The event aims to boost the local economy and raise awareness about consuming provincial products, emphasizing the importance of valuing wine and supporting farmers and winemakers. Félix Romero, Delegate for Economic Development, highlighted that “when people know what they produce, they value it more” and lamented the disappearance of vineyards in the Montilla Moriles region.
The mayor of Aguilar de la Frontera, Paqui Herrador, stressed that ‘Pontefino’ aims to go beyond wine promotion, encompassing the economic sector, history, landscape, and way of life in many municipalities. “Behind every wine, there are families, cooperatives, wineries, and generations who have worked the land,” she stated.
The Councilor for Tourism, Pepe Fontiberos, explained that over the three days, the local wine cooperative will host visitors to taste wines and learn about the wineries, presses, and producers from surrounding municipalities. Participating wineries include Toro Albalá, Arrabal Rodríguez, Lagar La Primilla, El Monte, Lagar de Casablanca, and Bodegas Delgado.
The variety of participants will allow visitors to discover different wine styles, from Fino and young wines to Amontillado and traditional Pedro Ximénez. The event will also feature local gastronomic offerings and traditional sweets from Confitería Santa Ana.
Open tastings will be held on Friday from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, Saturday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. There will be a paired tasting on Sunday by prior registration, and venencia workshops for adults and children, along with musical performances.
