The Junta de Andalucía has made two economic support lines available to new self-employed individuals in Cádiz: the 'cuota cero' (zero fee) and the subsidy for starting an activity. Both aids are compatible and can total a maximum of 6,500 euros, although the final amount varies according to personal and activity circumstances.
The 'cuota cero' aid aims to refund the self-employed individual the fees paid to Social Security during the first 12 months, provided the state's reduced fee was applied. The estimated refund is around 1,000 euros. This aid cannot be applied for immediately upon registration; it can be requested within two months after the completion of the first year of activity. The call for applications is open until September 30, 2026. Additional bonuses exist for specific groups such as people with disabilities, victims of gender-based violence or terrorism, and women returning after childbirth, adoption, or guardianship.
On the other hand, the subsidy for starting an activity offers between 3,800 and 5,500 euros to facilitate the launch of new projects. The general amount is 3,800 euros for women over 35 and men over 30. It increases to 5,000 euros for women under 35 and men under 30. These amounts rise to 5,000 and 5,500 euros respectively if the activity is carried out in municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants.
To access the start-up subsidy, it is necessary to be registered in the RETA (Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers), be covered by the reduced fee, carry out the activity in Andalucía, and present a business plan with a positive pre-tax result. Furthermore, the activity must be maintained uninterruptedly for 12 months from the application date.
The general deadline to apply for the start-up aid is two months from registration as self-employed. For the 'cuota cero', it is two months after completing the first 12 months of the reduced fee. Self-employed individuals must check their individual deadlines, although the general call ends on September 30, 2026. Those who meet the requirements for both aids can receive the maximum combined amount of 6,500 euros.
