The University of Cádiz (UCA) will launch two new degree programs in the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year, as part of the educational planning approved by the Regional Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation. This plan, extending until 2028, aims to update the educational offerings, adapt to digital challenges, and meet the needs of the regional productive environment and student demand.
One of the new programs will be the degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, designed to train professionals in the sustainable energy transition. The other new offering is a doctorate in Marketing and Market Research, which will be an interuniversity program, jointly offered with the University of Málaga, with UCA serving as the coordinating institution.
These two programs are part of a broader initiative introducing 36 new courses across Andalusia's public universities next academic year. Of these, nine are undergraduate degrees, 25 are master's degrees, and two are doctorates. Most authorized studies will be evenly split between STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields and social sciences, with a strong emphasis on digitalization and advanced technologies like artificial intelligence.
The Regional Ministry of University has prioritized criteria such as optimizing public resources, social demand, territorial cohesion, and internationalization in selecting these new programs. This update is part of a larger university reform that includes a new funding model and the Andalusian University Law (LUPA).
