Antonio Galán Miranda, also known as ‘El Boti’ and ‘El pelón’, will be the subject of a tribute next Saturday at 1:00 PM. The event will take place in front of his birthplace, located at number 5 Calle Cruz, where a commemorative plaque will be unveiled. This initiative comes from Miguel Domínguez Parrilla.
Galán, born on January 13, 1943, is the last survivor of the legendary group led by Paco Alba, a benchmark in Carnival during the 60s and 70s. Galán, son-in-law of the renowned Eduardo Delgado, began his Carnival career in 1961 with the chorus 'Faraón y su corte', winning first prize.
He later participated in 'Los tratantes de ganado' (1962) and 'Los dandys negros' (1963). His official association with Paco Alba led him to be part of six troupes that achieved first prize: 'Los fígaros' (1964), 'Los hombres del mar' (1965), 'Los beduinos' (1966), 'Los senadores romanos' (1968), 'Los fabulistas' (1969), and 'Los forjarores' (1971).
