After the deadline for submitting candidacies closed, the Ecce-Homo brotherhood of Cádiz will have a single proposal to lead the corporation for the next four years. The list is headed by Jaime Calderón Rovira, who has served as acting senior brother during the past term.
The candidacy will now be reviewed by the spiritual director, Manuel de la Puente, and the documentation will subsequently be sent to the diocesan delegation for final approval. Despite criticisms that emerged after the last Holy Week regarding the board of directors' management, no other candidacy has stepped forward to present itself.
The continuity of Calderón Rovira at the head of the brotherhood will allow progress on initiated projects, notably the restoration of María Santísima de las Angustias and the canopy, the gilding of over 60% of the mystery float, and the renovation of the interior of the San Pablo church.
A pending and priority objective is the restoration of the Yraola mantle, an embroidered piece from 1912 worn by the Lord. Social work and collaboration with cultural entities in the city also remain pillars of the management.
