The recognition event, held in Jerez, highlighted the career of this vendor, who, along with 15 other colleagues from the province, was awarded for his daily efforts. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking ONCE officials, including the deputy general director of Gaming, a delegate in Andalucía, and the president of the Territorial Council.
During the gala, a curious anecdote was recalled that underscores the honoree's dedication: in March 2022, he managed to deliver a Cuponazo with King Felipe VI's birth number to the Royal Household staff during a visit to Sanlúcar. Months later, the ticket appeared on the list of gifts received by the monarch, becoming part of Spain's Heritage.
“"I am very proud that one of my tickets reached His Majesty the King."
The vendor, who began his work in 2021 in San Roque square in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, initially overcame his reluctance to sell, discovering the value of interacting with the public. For him, being a good ONCE vendor means sincerity, transparency, and, above all, great empathy and the ability to listen to his customers, whom he considers part of his family.
ONCE officials emphasized the organization's unique social model, which is not only a gaming operator but also a promoter of safe and responsible social lotteries, aiming to protect the most vulnerable groups and build a better society. ONCE is the world's leading employer of people with disabilities.
The distinguished vendor will represent the province of Cádiz at the national gala recognizing ONCE's salespeople of the year, to be held in Madrid next June.
