Recently, a representative from the La Caixa Foundation visited the Therapeutic Treatment Center, managed by the Márgenes y Vínculos Foundation in the province of Cádiz. The purpose was to oversee a social project funded by the banking entity, which seeks to enhance the integration of minors in protection. Directors from both foundations also participated in the meeting.
The initiative focuses on young males aged between 13 and 17 years, who actively participate in shaping their own therapeutic plan, thereby fostering their autonomy and empowerment. This project is part of the La Caixa Foundation's social aid call for 2025 and is designed to reinforce the comprehensive educational support for minors housed in the residential center of the Márgenes y Vínculos Foundation, located in the La Janda region, in the Cádiz mountains.
The planned actions include improving equipment, activities, and infrastructure to address new school challenges related to integration, academic performance, and digital inclusion. Additionally, leisure, sports, and cultural activities are promoted, along with workshops and therapeutic sessions, facilitating the young people's contact with external organizations and society in general, providing them with positive learning experiences and strengthening their digital skills.
These types of meetings not only allow for monitoring the progress of ongoing projects but also open new lines of cooperation between entities, with the common goal of ensuring the protection and well-being of children and adolescents in vulnerable situations.
During the visit, the possibility of integrating the center into the La Caixa Foundation's Incorpora Program was explored. This initiative aims to improve the labor insertion of vulnerable individuals. This measure would open new training and employment opportunities for the young people, through collaboration with companies and specialized technicians.
The Márgenes y Vínculos Foundation, recognized for its work in violence prevention and treatment, develops various support projects for groups at risk of social exclusion. Its primary mission is to secure resources to ensure quality care for children, adolescents, and families, promoting innovation in social intervention. Both foundations positively value this collaboration, highlighting its impact on strengthening resources and developing social inclusion initiatives to improve the future opportunities for minors.
